Yarn

The yarn is the most important part of any weave.  We take yarn very serious.  Yarn must make the grade is several areas, and without exception, must pass with flying colors.  In inkle weaving there are more choices to choose from since this is all about hand weaving and we dare not exempt any type of yarn.  That brings us to what yarns we use and why, and do we recommend any suppliers.

Let's take a look at the perfect yarn and yarn supplier.

  • Quality yarn.  Yarn should stand up to the characteristics it was designed to have, be colorfast, strong, and durable.

  • There should be an ample supply of colors and sizes in which to choose from.  Weaving is a colorful experience and it should show.

  • There needs to be a good supply that can be easily and quickly ordered.  We all like getting what we want when we want it.

  • Pricing must be fair on the yarn and shipping.  Gas today is at a premium and so is our time.  Good online merchants can beat the big box stores and the order will arrive at the front door.

  • Easy access to quality customer service. Most online merchants offer customer service better than national chain stores and the product selection is far greater.

  • We support "Made in the USA   " products and when it comes to yarn there is no exception.  This support comes on the heels of quality. The United States still produces the finest quality yarns.  We take a lot of pride in our yarn industry.
